Our Mission
The mission of the Grand Concourse Academy Charter School is to create a challenging learning environment that addresses and meets the needs of students in New York City, especially those at-risk of academic failure. In a concentrated effort to prepare our students for entry into the very best high schools of New York City, the Academy will seek to foster a sense of strong character, ethics, and personal responsibility, as well as high expectations and academic success.
The Academy will place a strong emphasis on Reading, Math, Science, and Social Studies, and will diligently seek to prepare students to meet and/or exceed NYS performance standards in ELA, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies.

Background
Founded in 2004, Grand Concourse Academy Charter School (GCA) is a K–8 public charter school located in the Bronx, New York. For more than 20 years, GCA has remained committed to providing students with a strong academic foundation in a supportive, engaging, and inclusive school environment.
GCA currently serves 819 students in Kindergarten through 8th grade, providing a comprehensive educational experience that supports students academically, socially, and personally. Our school community is dedicated to preparing students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed for success in high school and beyond.
Through dedicated educators, strong family engagement, enrichment opportunities, and a focus on the whole child, Grand Concourse Academy continues to serve as a valued educational resource for Bronx families.
